9 to 5 Voyager will be temporarily shutting down at the end of September

Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you all know that 9to5Voyager.com will be going offline at the end of September 2022.

I have really enjoyed the past 3.5 years of travel blogging and I can confidently say that I gave it my best effort. Ever since I launched my site on April 29th, 2019, I have enjoyed traveling the world and sharing my experiences and advice with you. I got to realize my dream of being a professional travel blogger, and I wouldn’t have traded that experience for anything. I hope I achieved my goal of inspiring travelers with day jobs to see the world, despite financial obstacles.

Unfortunately, the blog just never took off like I envisioned. Keeping the site up and monetized takes money, and while I have recouped over 50% of my investment, the simple fact of the matter is it’s costing me money to keep this site up and running. I’d rather put that money towards traveling.

Having said that, when one door closes, another one opens. 9 to 5 Voyager gave rise to a more successful offshoot: 9 to 5 Drone. 9 to 5 Drone is my aerial videography endeavor, and that hobby has been successful. I’m well past paying for the cost of my drone as well as the Part 107 commercial drone operator’s course and test, all from the sale of my work. I will be pursuing my Part 107 certification this Fall, which will open up a whole new avenue of options. I love flying my drone and capturing destinations both foreign and domestic, just as much as I loved writing about my experiences.

You can view my drone work here.

Who knows? In the future when I have better resources and more material to write about, 9 to 5 Voyager may come back online. Until then, I’m going to focus on my drone business and seeing the world. I really have no complaints.

Thank you all so much for your support and readership over the years. It means a lot to me and I hope I was able to inspire you in some small way. I wish you all many safe travels!

Until next time, 9 to 5 Voyager out.
